What is Adjustment Disorder?

Adjustment disorder is a stress related mental illness. Symptoms of this disorder are trigger within three months of a stressful event.

Individuals experience emotional and behavioral symptoms and find it difficult to cope with everyday stressors.

Some symptoms can include, hopelessness, crying spells, lack of enjoyment, thoughts of suicide, feeling overwhelmed, desperation, difficulty sleeping, separation anxiety, and isolation.
Adjustment disorder can be treated with psychotherapy and medication management.
